What is the risk of a humanitarian crisis? What is the risk of a natural disaster or political issue overwhelming the capability of existing systems, causing people to need international assistance?While the future is unknown, The Index for RiskManagement (INFORM) helps answer these questions. The INFORM Risk index combines data about hazards, vulnerability and capacity to create a composite view of risk, supporting decisions for disaster response, preparedness, and development programing.
Open-source country level risk profiles have been successfully developed annually since 2015. In 2014, INFORM partners started testing subnational indexes, providing detailed pictures of risk and its components within a single region or country.
