Mark Slezak- Principal
Mark is a humanitarian preparedness and response professional with extensive operations experience supported by integrated analysis and strategic evaluation expertise. Mark has worked with a range of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the United Nations (UN) designing and managing humanitarian preparedness and assistance operations in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Indonesia, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the Philippines and the Sudan. Evaluation missions include Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Haiti as well as headquarters environments. Mark has experience in senior liaison roles, has led emergency and transitional programming, and has designed and managed information management systems. Recent focus includes simulation based humanitarian security training and risk management to support resilience initiatives. Mark holds a degree in International Relations from Tufts University and has conducted research in Development Studies at Makerere University in Uganda.

Paule Herodote - Senior Consultant
Paule is a social sector consultant with over ten years of professional experience in international policy and humanitarian intervention. Paule has worked with international government and non-governmental organizations as a policy analyst, researcher, and program officer on issues relating to natural resource management, food security, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian policy and intervention. In this capacity, she has developed strategies, guidelines, tools, and monitoring and evaluation systems, at institutional and operational level. Paule has a master's degree in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands and a Certificate in Environmental Sustainability from Columbia University in New York.

Naomi Morris - Senior Consultant
Naomi has 15 years’ experience with the UN, INGOs, government and academic institutions working in emergency response, international development and training with a specific focus on health and complex environments. Naomi has an advanced university degree via publication in humanitarian response and is certified by the Health Care Professional Society in Paramedic Sciences. Naomi facilitates and coordinates the SIMEX Series annual emergency response exercises in the UK, looking at domestic and international mechanisms, with over 2000 participants from 60 different organizations working under a framework structured through stakeholder recommendations and objectives (www.thesimexseries.org). Naomi deploys regularly with various rosters for emergency response including UNOCHA and INGOs including Haiti, Iraq, Niger and Bolivia. Longer term field experience within Humanitarian Action includes deployments to Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Iraq, Haiti, Pakistan, Tanzania, Zambia and Lebanon.

Lauren has over 12 years of international humanitarian experience working for international NGOs, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and most recently the International Committee of the Red Cross. With a background in anthropology and geographic information science, her main strengths in the field are information management, geographic information systems, analysis, assessments, monitoring and evaluation. She has both conducted her own analysis as well as written guidelines and led trainings on data and analysis. She is the lead author of the humanitarian guidance book, Acquiring and Analysing Data in Support of Evidence-Based Decisions.

Scott Alexander - Strategic Advisor
Scott has over fifteen year’s experience working to reduce poverty through economic growth at both the programmatic and policy levels. His service to the U.S. Government includes time at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. African Development Foundation, U.S. Peace Corps as well as having served as a foreign policy advisor to Honorable Kay Granger (TX-12). He has substantive experience in translating policy into programs for USG development initiatives such as Power Africa and Feed the Future. He is currently serving as strategic advisor to Rivanna Strategy with a focus on expanding access to energy to the bottom billion.

Eric is an aid worker, social entrepreneur and university lecturer. Currently, he is Co-founder/Executive Director of Field Ready. He began his career with USAID and has since worked for a number of NGOs and consulted for the UN. His professional experience spans over twenty countries including Afghanistan, Burundi, Haiti, Liberia and Somalia. These experiences, as well as his early start as an Eagle Scout, have made him a strong believer in humanitarianism. He has also published three books on the subject.
In the commercial sector, he has been involved in several start-ups. Eric holds two patents for devices related to clean drinking water and he was an Advisor/Teaching Fellow at Singularity University in 2012. He is also a certified trainer/facilitator in leadership and management. He has earned degrees from the University of Illinois, the London School of Economics, Tuft’s Fletcher School and the University of Manchester where he earned a PhD in International Development. Previously, he lectured at several universities (Manchester, Richmond and Minnesota where he co-directs an annual disaster response simulation) and is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at DePaul University. Eric is on the Board of RedR-US and an Affiliated Expert of the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.

Craig Williams - Senior Advisor
Craig has worked in the humanitarian and development field for 25 years, working in more than 30 response operations. His focus is the collection, management and analysis of data to enable evidence-based planning and decision-making and he has pioneered many of the approaches and tools that are widely used today in this field. As well as broad experience in humanitarian preparedness and response, he has worked in risk and severity analysis, food security, livelihoods and mine action.
Craig recently served as Chief of Field Information Management at OCHA, leading their global community of field-based information management staff and driving efforts on policy, standards, digital platforms, capacity development, preparedness and field support. He is a founder of the Index for Risk Management (INFORM) partnership and chaired the global inter-agency Information Management Working Group.
Craig’s passion is helping organizations to gather, manage and analyze data and information; designing organizational strategies, building and training high-performing teams at HQ and the field, troubleshooting field operations and managing complex digital projects.
